"Let's Cut Up a Watermelon II"

Acrylic on Canvas

10"x10"

When I was a little kid, our summer extended family get-togethers would sometimes culminate with the cutting of a watermelon. It was our ultimate Kentucky summer celebration. And I’m not talking about the average size round watermelons I often see nowadays. This was a massive, oblong, can’t-hardly-carry-it watermelon. My grandpa sat in his lawn chair and enjoyed his favorite food immensely, rinds piling up beside him while my cousins and I ran footloose and fancy free. Simple times. Good times.

This painting is a signed, one-of-a kind original. It is on stretched canvas and is painted around the sides, so no framing is necessary. Price includes shipping in the continental US.
