I had a moment sitting on a bench high on a Laguna Beach hill. It was our last day of vacation, and I was due back at work in a couple of days. There was a warm breeze, and the light was brilliant.  Looking down on stretches of vivid flowers that led to the turquoise shore, I was struck by a profound longing to stay. Maybe we call work and ask for a couple more days off and book the nearest hotel to that very spot. Of course that didn’t happen, so I just tried to memorize and bottle that feeling.
